Community Connection: Walk With Your Doc Returns to Tumbler Ridge
The South Peace Division of Family Practice is pleased to invite the public to Walk With Your Doc – a free community event happening in Tumbler Ridge on Thursday, May 15, 2025. This health-focused initiative encourages residents to get moving, connect with local healthcare providers, and learn more about the benefits of regular physical activity.
Hosted in partnership with Dr. Lenouvel and the Flatbed Loops Walking Group, the event offers a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where participants can enjoy the outdoors, ask questions, and engage in conversations about chronic disease prevention and wellness.
Event Details:
- Thursday, May 15, 2025
- 6:30 PM – Health talk and warm-up
- 7:00 PM – Walk begins
- Flatbed Campground, Tumbler Ridge (Meet near the covered area by the playground)
The event will feature a short health talk on Type 2 Diabetes and Remission, followed by a scenic 2 km walk (with an optional extended route). Healthy snacks, water, and take-home resources will be provided, and no registration is required.
This event reflects the Division’s ongoing commitment to community-led care, where local voices, prevention-focused outreach, and open dialogue with health providers help strengthen connections and improve health outcomes. Walk With Your Doc is proudly supported by Doctors of BC and the Primary Care Network, and highlights the power of simple, inclusive events in building trust ana awareness across the region.
