Dawson Creek played a pivotal role in the construction of the Alaska Highway during World War II and is home to the iconic “Mile 0” marker. Today, it continues to grow while maintaining its welcoming, down-to-earth feel.

“I like my routine in a weekday and I like adventures on weekends. I like to get moments of peace and quiet in the morning before going to my clinic. As a general practitioner, I meet diverse conditions in a diverse population. I head to the hospital afterwards to see my inpatients and meet my colleagues. We spend time in the doctor’s lounge about once a week chatting about various things before going back home. Keeping such a routine helps me save my energy for a weekend activity with my friends. Between the many lakes and the hiking trails in the region or a trip across the province border, we find a new adventure in summer or winter times.”
